Services that deliver outcomes for people and communities will achieve the most meaningful results when lead by organisations that focus on long term prevention, that remain plugged into changing needs, are able to reach communities which are often excluded, and that put values over profits.
Charities deliver this and more, and change will only come if governments recognise this and the third sector is able to own and articulate its value.
These resources are intended for those to achieve their mission through delivering public contracts. Feel free to use them and share them, and by all means get in touch if they can help your organisation further.
About Me
I’m Rosie Spiegelhalter. I'm Asst Director of Business Development at Catch22, where I am fortunate enough to oversee our ambitious plans to maintain and grow our £50m footprint of public sector services in the fields of criminal justice, young people and families, employability and alternative education.
Before that I headed up the business development teams at St Mungo’s and at Toynbee Hall, and was chair of trustees for Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers. Outside of that I draw with thread and I spar at Paragon Gym, where I've learnt to keep my head up after being punched in the face repeatedly which if I'm honest is the best preparation for working in business development that I've ever had.
When I worked in fundraising there were infinite blogs, books and networking events ready to help charities get their heads around how to fundraise. The same support is not there for those striving to achieve their mission through public services–here’s my start on changing that.
